The Morning in a Pine Forest, Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitsky

The Morning in a Pine Forest is one of the most famous pictures in Russia. Mostly this picture is famous because of sweets. Everyone in Russia has tried these really tasty sweets with this picture on its cover.
The Morning in a Pine Forest is a painting by Russian artists Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitsky. This work was painted in 1889. Its size is 139x213 cm.
Ivan Shishkin was a landscape painter who really loved nature. This love we can see in his work. Everything is in harmony in this picture. We can see bright golden hues in the background. These hues are a hint of breaking through the rays of the sun. They give the picture an incredible atmosphere. The fog on the ground is depicted pretty realistically. And if you look closer on this detail you will be able to feel the morning coolness.
In the foreground, we can see four little bears. They are playing, causing positive emotions. The bears are depicted so realistically. They look so innocuous that it’s easy to forget they are predatory animals.
Actually, there is a really interesting story about the bears. Traditionally, Shishkin is considered as a painter of this picture. Shishkin is a great landscape painter. By the story, the painter depicted only nature on this work. After Shishkin had depicted landscape, his friend, Savitsky, depicted four bears. Then Shishkin took this picture to sell to a Russian collector, Tretyakov.  Tretyakov didn’t want to pay to two artists for one picture. He gave money to Shishkin and erased Savitsky's name in the picture. We can see a black spot in the bottom left corner of the picture since when.
